    Introduction to Disability Studies

A broad overview of the models and theories that have traditionally guided professional approaches to working with people with disabilities. The implications of these constructions are explored in relation to the development of theory, policy and practice locally and globally. Through first person accounts, students explore the realities of living with disability and critically examine the intersections of health, illness, and disability including strengths, capacities and contributions of people living with disability.
